The Women Collection

The Women collection evolved to acknowledge and celebrate our inner energies, little states of being that may go unseen and uncelebrated. It was in journalling my morning pages and contemplating how we sometimes let these states of being slide further and further under a mound of daily busy-ness that these intentional talismans came to be.

A way to acknowledge the many facets of self, emotion and experience by bringing them into being to be worn and cherished. Each woman a talisman, an intention, a little note to self – ‘this energy is part of me.’

I love that our inner worlds are deeper than perceived roles or archetypes – maiden, mother, crone, queen, lover, warrior. We are many things all at once, energies that rise and fall.

My goal was to allow someone to curate their own collection of resonant pieces that sit comfortably within that person’s own context and which are personal to their own travelled path – pieces to be collected, called-upon, seen and celebrated. Pieces that when worn and touched, hold resonant significance for the wearer.

Each piece is hand carved in wax and cast in precious metal. I adore making these, the way each woman slowly manifests to reveal her own texture and character. They come alive and I get deliciously lost in the time spent carving.

The work will evolve and go on to develop in my signature style. I can already sense the whispers and nudges for more. Who knows what tomorrow’s morning pages will bring.
